After you've had your henna applied, be careful while it’s wet that you do not smear it.


After 20-30 minutes the henna will start to dry and flake. In order to try and keep it on the skin for longer, mix lemon juice and sugar and dab it onto the design. Be gentle or you’ll rub it off.


Try to leave the henna on for as long as possible; 2-3 hours or ideally overnight. Try to avoid getting water on the henna for 24 hours if you can.


Initially, the stain will be orange but will darken to a brown over the next 24-48 hours.
